Barrie G. Galvin, OTR/L, CIMI, IMC is the owner and clinical director of Barrie Galvin and Associates, Ltd (The Galvin Therapy Center), a multidisciplinary pediatric focus clinic, and founder of GERCF, The Galvin Educational and Resource Center for Families, a non-profit organization in Cleveland Ohio, with a primary mission of bringing new information to families of children with special needs.
Ms. Galvin is a registered and licensed occupational therapist with advanced certification and training in sensory integration, DAN protocol (Defeat Autism Now), Infant Massage, Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome and Floor-Time (DIR model). Over a 38-year period, Ms. Galvin established and built a state-of-the-art private practice and is an invited lecturer on a wide range of topics. The clinic is a training site for occupational therapy students from six universities and rotation site for University Hospital psychiatric residents.
Ms. Galvin has served as presidents of the Ohio Occupational Therapy Associations, interim director and clinical supervisor for the Occupational Therapy Program at Cleveland State University and was awarded a lifetime achievement award from the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association. She has edited several manuscripts and recently co-authored a national occupational therapy pediatric research project focusing on fine motor performance in preschool age children.
